Unfortunately, my experience with Conservative governments on these issues is that they may say they support these things in principle, but they don't truly make it a priority. As a conservative who is somehow, miraculously FOR women's rights, the abolition of poverty, safe, affordable childcare, and the protection of the environment, I take great issue with the erroneous assumption that Republican or conservative somehow equates to uncaring selfishness. Ignorance and intolerance go both ways, ladies, and diversity includes people you don't agree with. This kind of thinking is exactly what will push this country into further division. Cheers. I am sick to my stomach waiting to see if things will work out better in the US. I am glad I have my son, because if the Cons win (or steal the election like they have in the past) I would seriously consider jumping out my window. Are we really selfis creatures, caring only for ourselves? I hope not. And, like Ashley, I hope that the voices of CHANGE and HOPE win in the US--so very soon.
