It’s the end of the week. I’m tired and ready for the weekend. So we made pizza for dinner (nice and easy) and I’m taking the easy route on posting tonight too and doing the meme that Dani of Postcards from the Mothership. Unfortunately, I think Dani sent me her son’s sickness along with the meme. My daughter kept me up last night coughing and coughing and I’m hoping for a better night tonight.
THE FAVOURITE MEME. Fill in your favourite for each of the following:
1. Political show The Current on CBC Radio. There have been some fabulous interviews recently with people like Melissa Fung (reporter held hostage), Pauline Marois (leader of the Parti Quebecois).
2. Picnic food Potato salad!
3. Mixed drink Haven’t had one in years, but when I lived out east I loved grapefruit juice, cranberry juice and vodka.
4. U.S. President Obama, of course.
5. Kind of student to teach One that values what you teach them and returns the favour by teaching you something.
6. Hobby you do or wish you still did Cross country skiing. Hope to pick it up again when the kids are a bit older.
7. Sports commentator There is nothing that bores me more than sports commentators. It is the one section of the newspaper I don’t read. The one time on the radio that I completely tune out. Love to play sports, but I don’t need to listen to other people talking about sports.
8. Sport to watch on TV Not much. I get into the Olympics, but don’t watch a lot of sports otherwise. Maybe the Stanley Cup Playoffs if my team is playing.
9. Animal to have as a pet Cats, but they are getting out of favour at the moment. They wake me more at night than my kids do and since the cold weather is coming soon, I won’t be able to kick them out at night when they get too annoying.
10. Halloween costume you have worn Spider! My mom made me a great spider costume when I was a kid and I made myself a similar one while doing my Master’s degree. It was a big hit both times.
11. Kind of dessert Anything with chocolate
12. Comic strip I love Betty, Pooch Cafe, and Zits these days. Favourite classic though is For Better or For Worse…especially love seeing the babywearing in the old strips.
13. Style or make of footwear Leather thong flip flops or anything similarly light and easy to put on.
14. Ice cream flavor Something with cookie dough or brownie dough in it!
15. College or university president I’ve heard Carleton University President Roseanne Runte speak on the radio a few times and been impressed.
16. Internet news source CBC, globe and mail, and the Queen of Spain (blog, twitter) and BlogDiva (blog, twitter) via their twitter profiles.
17. Vacation spot Cuba or Northern Spain
18. Wine Anything red and full bodied
19. Way to waste time instead of working I don’t believe that time spent not working is time wasted. I cherish the time that I’m not working.
20. Student excuse for late work As a former prof and TA, I’ve heard a lot of excuses. Many of them lame, but the ones that are gut wrenchingly difficult to hear are the people that request extensions because they are going through chemo or supporting a spouse that is going through chemo. Not something anyone should have to endure.
21. Reality show Amazing Race…the only one that is watchable.
22. Jewelry on a man Not important really
23. Pizza topping Pineapple and bacon
24. Children’s movie Seen too many lately, I think I’ve lost perspective! But I did really like Ratatouille.
25. Celebrity you wish would retire I’ll agree with Dani on this one – Stephen Harper. And also please don’t let Sarah Palin come back in 2012.
