No, her name is actually Pippi Långstrump. The creator was the Swedish (not German!) author Astrid Lindgren. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrid_Lindgren /Karin from Sweden

Karin:
Yes, I know that she is Swedish. As is Michel aus Lönneberga. My kids watch the stories in German though.
And my American boyfriend and I have been reading Ronia the Robber’s daughter (Ronja Rövardotter) in English and enjoyed it a lot.
Michael is Emil in Swedish.
Pippi on the shirt is the oe who played Pippi in the Swedish movies about her!
Astrid Lindgren and her boks are much beloved in Sweden!
That shirt is great! My 3yo in so in love with Pippi right now. Love the picture
I loved the Pippi books (and movies) as a kid! I’m hoping I can get my son to read them, when he’s older.
Cute photo!
I love that shirt! I’m going to try and find it in an adult size!
Cheers, Anne
Oh my, I have to know where you found that shirt! (I’d like to say I want to buy one for my daughter, but I kinda want one for myself!)
That’s a great picture! I wonder if I could braid my 4yo’s hair yet…
Happy WW! Come on by and link up
I had forgotten all about Pippi until I saw this. I used to love her. I’ll have to be sure to pick up some books. I have a feeling my kids are still a little young for Pippi, but I’d like to read them again.
I like the double Pippi’s.
We love Pippi here, too, and often talk about pluttification in her honor….
Anne & Laura:
I got the shirt in a small boutique in Berlin. If you are/plan to be there, e-mail me and I’ll send you the exact details.
Ohhh she is cute. And I love the shirt–I used to watch that when I was little!
How fun! We were just reading Pippi Longstocking the other night! My girls loved the stories!
Love it. I need to try that with my girl’s hair!
Mine has been insisting on it ever since she had enough hair to do it!
Loving the shirt. The Pippi movie from forever ago was one of my favourites!
I love it! She’s a dead ringer.
Very cute! Now I can’t wait for mine’s hair to get longer.
Oh beautiful! I can’t wait for my daughter’s hair to be long enough to do something with!
So cute! We read the book this Autumn to combat my sons’ “we hate girls, right mommy?” phase. Success all around.
