A phrase I remember hearing often as a child was:
It’s all fun and games until someone…
…gets hurt
…loses an eye
…falls off the bed
…gets run over by a car.
That’s what happens when you grow up in a home with three younger siblings and a dad that often provoked the rough housing that led to my mother uttering those words.
