I think it’s illustrating that the mother does not HAVE to use a bottle when she goes out in public. She has the right to breastfeed wherever she chooses. She’s leaving the bottle on the table, so to speak, and opting for the boob.

I think it is sad that the law has an age limit on it. I also find the bottle in the image confusing.

Why is there an age limit? That’s ridiculous. What about those mothers that breastfeed their children over 6 months old?

I find that strange too. Especially since the bottle isn’t just in the foreground, it’s actually the only thing in focus too.

ugh.

i think it’s all the consipiracy to get us bottle using. like giving formula out at the hospital even when we told them we would POUR IT DOWN THE DRAIN.

This is old news that misinterprets a government announcement on proposals for new legislation in the UK (in a notoriously right-wing, reactionary newspaper).
As for the imagery… ???

Maybe it is milk that she pumped while at work?

“Mothers earn the right to breastfeed in public places (but isn’t that what bottles are made for?)”

Way to make sure that feeding your baby is still associated with a bottle, not the breast, even when specifically talking about breastfeeding.

The subtlety astounds me.

Wow, that’s totally ridiculous to put an age limit on nursing in public! Especially a limit of 6 months, when the World Health Organization recommends at least a year.
