Here we go again with the abortion debate

Pro-life conservatives around the US are congratulating McCain for his choice of Sarah Palin and working themselves up into a giddy frenzy because she is a pro-life mother of a baby with Down's Syndrome. She isn't just pro-life, she lives it they say. And then they go on to explain how the pro-abortion camp (it is called pro-choice BTW), would certainly have aborted that baby.

Time for a reality check people.

Being pro-choice doesn't mean that you would abort a baby with Down's Syndrome any more than being a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association means that you would shoot and kill a person with Down's Syndrome.

Cut the rhetoric just a little bit please.

That's a fantastic analogy. I find that the media creates such warped views of reality; especially when it has to do with politics. It's almost the same type of nonsense when they talk about tax policy. Bottom line, no tax policy will drastically change the economic status of the poor or middle class. So, enough already.
