Final Thoughts on Importance of Play - Carnival Posts (Part 7)

The great posts for the Carnival of Play just keep coming and coming! Here are some great posts touching on the importance of play from carnival participants:

  • The Importance of Playing @ Preschool Playbook: This post gives an educator's perspective on the importance of playing, in particular imaginative play, based on her experience and a recent course that she took as part of the refresh of her teaching certificate.

  • Just play @ The Wonder Years: In this post, growinginpeace captures her kids moments of spontaneous play in pictures and also links to a great Scholastic article on pretend play.

Hope you enjoy this final segment of Carnival Posts. I'll be putting up a couple more posts. One more book review and then a final roundup of all of the posts (mine and yours) from the whole carnival. Thank you to everyone that has participated by writing, reading and commenting.

This has probably been the most fantastic blog carnival I've participated in or read about because it has reminded me of why I'm passionate about what I do for my children and why it matters. I came across it just when I needed it most - when I started to doubt myself and felt myself doubting I've been doing the right things. It has given me renewed energy.

Thank you so much for the thought-provoking posts and all of the wonderful information. What an absolute gift you have given to others' by hosting this carnival of play.
